There was a national webinar organised by Eli Lily & Company on 21-06-2018. Dr Manoj Sharma was the speaker and expert panel from Delhi, others speaker was Dr Nena from Mumbai. The talk highlighted the epidemic state of osteoporotic prevalence in India. This is the main reason of fractures, morbidity & mortality in old age, specially females. Prevention by adequate diet & exercise delays it. New drugs like Teriperatide & denusumab are ground breaking molecules, now available in india. Talk discussed about algorithm of osteoporotic fracture management and stressed the need of immediate start of medical treatment as well. The webinar was widely attended and appreciated all over the country by orthopaedic surgeons.
Dr Manoj Sharma attended the S.S.A. 2018 (Spine society in Australia) annual meeting at Adelaide Australia the main focus was on latest technology in spine surgery like MIS techniques, 3D printing & robotics in spine. These technologies will soon be available for Indian patients as well.
